From the shores of the Potomac River in Westmoreland County, Virginia, the PrinceWilliam Network presented this field trip to more than 500,000 K-12 students across the United States. The 90-minute interactive program features respected geologists and paleontologists who discuss worldwide changes in climate and how oceans effect global climate. Students are also introduced to the principles of physical geology including Superpositioning, lateral continuity and horizontality. Scientists share vertebrate and invertebrate fossil finds dating from the Miocene epoch and answer questions from viewers and students on site.
